George Thrailkill, 87, Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 18, 2013.He attended Hickory Valley Baptist Church where he loved to attend the Adult Sunday School Class.George joined the Navy when he was 17 years old. He served for three years then decided to join the Army. He retired from the Army with over 20 years of service. After losing his wife, Anita, to breast cancer, he returned to Chattanooga area in 1990 where he remarried Edna. When Edna became sick he cared for her until she passed. Later he cared for Betty (Ednas sister) who was suffering from Alzheimers disease. Anytime you needed him, he was there. He loved to rebuild classic cars and show them off. He lived 87 years with no major sickness then cancer hit him and took him within six months. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend.He was preceded in death by his wives, Edna Thrailkill and Anita Thrailkill; his parents, Robert and Austin Thrailkill; sister, Velma Hartline; brother, William Thrailkill.Survivors include: daughters, Rhonda (Mike) Gordon, of Coral Springs, Fla. and Linda (Barry) Cordell, of Flintstone; grandchildren, Christy Chilcote, of Coral Springs, Fla., Kurt (Stacey) Gordon, of Miami, Fla., and Robert Cordell, of Ringgold; great-grandchild, Josiah Chilcote, of Coral Springs, Fla.; sister Ruth Rich, of Chattanooga.Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Larry Graham and Pastor Chris Hayes officiating.Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chattanooga Hospice, P.O.
