CHICKAMAUGA Wandalee Miller, 77, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.Lee was born in Syracuse, N.Y., but spent much of her time in Chickamauga.She was an associate professor of Health and Physical Education at the University of New York. She was also the director of the Genesee River Valley Project in Rochester, N.Y. She was an avid golfer and kayaker; she was quite a character who was loved by all.She is survived by her sister, Barbara Joan, of Palm Springs, Calif.; nephews, Matt, of Palm Springs, Chris, of Reston, Va.; sister-in-law, Patti, of Reston; good friend, Barbara Fossett, of Chickamauga.Friends and family will have a celebration of her life later in the summer at her beloved summer place in New York.Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospital Cancer Center, 2525 De Sales Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37404.Friends may visit www.heritagefh.com to share memories with Lee's family.Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
