Larry Wayne Grady transitioned from this life to enter eternal rest in heaven on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2013. Larry was born July 4, 1951 and was a member of Riverside High Schools class of 1970. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1971 and completed 10 years of military service as an aerospace ground equipment mechanic having served tours at New Jersey, Hampton, Virginia and in Korea. He was also awarded several awards to include an Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Nation Defense Service Medal. Larry "Shady" Grady was discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1981. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Pearl Grady; his father, Lorenzo Grady; his grandmother, Odessa Trammell; and his aunt, Jimmy Ruth Mayweather. He leaves precious memories to his loving wife, Gloria Grady; sister, Patricia (Willie) Williams; nieces, Tammy Woods and Denise Grady, of Waldorf, Md; 10 great-nieces and nephews; many cousins and a host relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, in the funeral home chapel. Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery, gate time 1:30 pm. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
