Lynn L. Ferguson, 82, and formerly of Niota, died Friday morning, Jan. 31, 2014, at Baptist Healthcare, Lenoir City. A native of McMinn County he was the son of the late James P. and Lela Yarberry Ferguson. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Combustion Engineering, and later was employed with Athens Furniture. He is survived by his wife, Betty Standridge Ferguson, Knoxville; one daughter, Rhonda Ferguson, Delaware; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Randy (Janet) Ferguson, Knoxville, Tony (Mary) Ferguson, Chattanooga and Mitchell Ferguson, Chicago; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Smith Funeral Home from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. today, Feb. 4, 2014. A brief service will be held at the end of the visitation at Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Ferguson officiating. The graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at McMinn Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
