Rosetta Whittenbur

Rosetta Whittenburg Rosetta "Rose" Masingale, 79, of Chattanooga, loving wife, mother and grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Golden Gateway, and a member of the Rebecca Sunday School Class. She was employed with Lookout Beauty Supply Co. for many years; she was also manager of Discount Beauty Supply and was a sales associate at Proffitts Department Store. Rose was a former president of the Holly Hills Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edwin Eugene Whittenburg. Surviving relatives; son and daughter-in-law Edwin R. (Lynn) Whittenburg, of Rossville; daughter and son- in-law, Anita (Arthur) Gontarek, of Harrison; sisters, Shirley Richardson, of Chattanooga, Florine Crittenden, of Cleveland, Tenn.; Juanita McDonald, of St. Augustine, Fla.; grandchildren, Alex Gontarek, Hannah (Colt) Chastain, Noah Whittenburg, Daniel Whittenburg and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Thomas Quisenberry officiating. The interment will be 9:30 a.m. Monday Jan. 20, 2014, in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alex Gontarek, Arthur Gontarek, Charlie Richardson, Chris Richardson, David Petty, Noah Whittenburg and Daniel Whittenburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Hamilton County Unit, 850 Fort Wood St., Chattanooga, TN 37403. Visit to share words of comfort to the family and view the memorial tribute. The family will receive friends 3-7 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home 7454 East Brainerd Road.
