Ruth Edwards

Ruth Edwards Ruth Anna Ellis Edwards died peacefully Monday, June 23, 2014, at the age of 95. She was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Knox County, Tenn. Ruth graduated valedictorian from Halls High School and attended Lincoln Memorial University. After working several years as a teacher, Ruth was hired by TVAs Maps & Surveys Division in Chattanooga. She worked as a cartographer there until she married Jewett P. Edwards in Aug. 1946, at Trinity Methodist Church. After 53 years of marriage, Jewett died Dec. 1999. Ruth has gone to join him, survived by her daughters, Nancy (Duane) Dickens, Judi (Larry) Sellers, and Susan (Jack) Martin; two grandchildren, Meredith (Michael) Feistner and Matthew Martin; and one great-grandchild, Sydney Feistner. The family will receive friends 12:30-2 p.m. Friday June 27, 2014, immediately followed by a 2:30 p.m. graveside service at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Dr. David Harr officiating.
