Sallie Ransom

ROSSVILLE

Mother Sallie Nancy Ransom, 89, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., formerly of Rossville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, in Lehigh Acres. She was a retired school teacher of the Walker County School System, a member of the Eastern Star of Chickamauga Lodge, and a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Lumpkin, of Kensington, Ga., Sandra (Nestor) Roman, of Lehigh Acres and Sharon Burse, of Chattanooga; three sons, William F. (Letha) Ransom, Bernard (Angela) Ransom, of Kensington, and Darrell Ransom, of Lehigh Acres; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Idel Christopher, of Highland Park, Mich.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Homegoing service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at New Salem Baptist Church, 756 Dewberry Road, Rossville, with Elder Andre Sharpe and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday. Interment, Chattanooga National Cemetery.
