Etta Ruth Berry, 105, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 in a local health care facility. She was a faithful member of Greater Friendship Primitive Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher, was on the Usher Board, Sisters Aide Society, and visionary and organizer of the Beautifying Guild. She had been employed by Dr. and Mrs. John Hocker for many years and retired in the 70's. She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Luvenia Russ; husband, Milton A. Berry; daughter, Leona Bradley; grandchildren, Usher III, Linda and Connie Raymond; three brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include her son, Charles (Erika) Berry, of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter, Evangelist Ernestine Carter, of Chattanooga; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and family. Visitation is today from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Greater Friendship Primitive Baptist Church with Elder James Penny as the eulogist. Burial: Monday at 11 a.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery.
