Johnny attended Monroe Public Schools and was a graduate of Monroe High School. Johnny started playing guitar at about nine years of age, a passion that remained a major part of his entire life. During his time in Saint Croix Johnny played and sang weekly in a local blues group. He was an avid cook and enjoyed spoiling friends and family with his gourmet meals. Above all else, Johnny cherished his own family and the two grandchildren, Cameron and Kane Fox; in their eyes, Johnny was known as PaPaw. Never one lost for words, Johnny could talk to anyone about anything and could tell a joke about as good as any professional. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sharon; grand children, Cameron and Kane Fox; brothers, Charles D. Evans (Doris), and Gary L. Evans (Margie), of Monroe, Roger D. Evans (Cindy) , of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Steve M. Evans (Lani), of Woodstock, Ga. John's sisters include Mary F. Fowler (John), of Monroe, Patsy E.
