Whereas I agree that something needs to be done, there is not a large amount of land to work with at this location. I don't see how it could be done, as a clear space for two lanes of traffic is needed around the entire monument area, for a proper roundabout to be built. Does the city propose to takeover land at that site? Otherwise, I don't see it being any better off than it currently is, as a narrower roundabout would create other problems.
