The evidence is now overwhelming that start times after 8:30 are much better for teens, but too often starting high schools later poses problems for younger kids (especially if schools work this out by starting the little ones in the dark). Right now there's a national online petition to support a limit on how early ANY school can start--which will make it easier for local schools to set hours good for all children when they figure out their schedules.
