S & S Tours

Steve Stevens began his business in 1987 after retiring from Nabisco after 22 years in the sales department. Only a few months of retirement passed before he got bored and started a charter bus business.

Eight years ago he began taking groups to Cherokee, N.C., to Harrah’s Casino for a day of fun and recreation. His son helps out with the business on occasion, and his employee Debra Akins has become his right-hand lady.

Akins assists with most all of the operations, as well as traveling on the bus to be sure the clients are entertained and are enjoying themselves.

Stevens and Akins enjoy meeting new people and becoming friends with the people that they meet. There are many customers that frequent S & S Tours, which shows just how exciting it is to take a bus tour with this company. Stevens has never had a complaint from the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and he takes pride in making sure the customers are pleased.

The buses are always clean, and safe drivers always get customers to their destination on time, Stevens said.

S & S Tours has three pickup points: Chattanooga, Cleveland and Murphy N.C., so that it is convenient for anyone who wishes to take the tour. They also make a special stop at Hardee’s along the way for breakfast, so customers can enjoy the ride with a full stomach.

Recently S & S tours was featured on Chattadealz.com, and new customers who purchased a ticket actually made $5 just for taking the trip. S & S Tours also offers bus leasing for school trips, family reunions, church trips and senior trips.
