Bio:
Alex joined the Times Free Press full-time in Jan. 2014 after completing the paper's six-month, general assignment internship the year prior. Alex grew up in Dayton, Tenn., and graduated from Rhea County High School in 2008. He went on to study journalism at Bryan College, become executive editor of the school's student publication and receive the University of Oregon's Ancil Payne Award for Ethics in Journalism in 2013 for self-publishing a spiked story in college. Alex now writes about business for the Times Free Press and EDGE magazine and covers a wide range of topics, including Hamilton County planning commission and new regional construction. Story ideas are always welcome.
