In 2001, he was an intern at the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, where he assisted with coverage of the NBA, the Vikings, and the PGA Tour. He also received intensive training at the Associated Press Sports Journalism Institute in 2000 and was a speaker at an Investigative Reporters and Editors annual conference in 2001.
His list of awards include honors from the Hearst Foundation, the Associated Press Sports Editors and the Tennessee Society of Professional Journalists.
Golf, fly-fishing and outdoor-related activities occupy David’s free time, in addition to work on his first house in Red Bank.
