Meghan Pittman began writing for Times Free Press' Chatter and Get Out magazines and weekly Community News in February 2013. She writes about running, birding and destinations for Get Out, and Chattanooga's food culture and neighborhoods for Chatter. She also covers the Metro and East Hamilton areas for Community News. Before moving to Chattanooga, Meghan covered city government and business at the Brunswick News, a daily newspaper on the Georgia coast. She was born and raised in Brunswick, Ga., and graduated from the University of Georgia's Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communication in 2010 with a degree in Magazines with an emphasis in Photojournalism. In college, Meghan freelanced, held editing and managing positions with UGAzine and was the fall 2010 photo editor for the Red & Black, the independent, student-run newspaper that covers university issues. Outside of work, Meghan enjoys reading, gardening, being outside and, most of all, trying out new cooking recipes and techniques. She lives with her lovely husband, Louie Brogdon, and their black Labrador retriever, Dr. Argos.
