Here is something many citizens do not consider during the debate over the 2nd Amendment as it relates to legal "shall not be infringed" carry:
In 1856, the U.S. Supreme Court (South v. Maryland) found that law enforcement officers had no affirmative duty to provide protection to the Citizens. In 1982 (Bowers v. DeVito), the Court of Appeals, 7th Circuit held, "...there is no Constitutional right to be protected by the state against being murdered by criminals or madmen. I found at least 9 other Court cases in lesser Courts that have held the same.
So, if the Police have NO Constitutional obligation to protect us, do I then assume that in the world that liberals create I have no right to protect myself as well? And if I, as an individual, have no right to protect myself and the Police have no responsibility to protect me either......we just let the criminals have their way?
I'll pass. I support Van for his common sense Constituional views.
