The $40 million is just Chattanooga and Hamilton County taxpayers contribution. The $750 million is all state and local contributions. Who is really taking the risk here, we gave VW the property, developed the site, train access, ......... the list goes on and on.

I note with interest the Governors group speaks of how brave VW is to proceed during the economic downturn. What about the $40 million dollar tax payer gift to this project, and the public money at risk. The VW team representing the tzxpayers gave away the farm on this one.

Finally, a Charter schools. Thrity percent of Hamilton County families exercise choice afforded to them by economic status, called private schools. Being poor, should not mean manditory placement at a failing school. It is about time for Charter schools. The children from low income areas should also have a choice.

Unfortunately, the Hamilton County public schools makes it as cumbersome as possbile for these children to exercise school choice under NCLB. Really, sending the notificaiton letters out to Red Bank High School and Howard studens two weeks after school started, shame on you Hamilton County school system.

And, lots more charter schools please, all children deserve choice.

How funny. On the job campaigning emails are not public record, and union meetings are not public record. What exactly does the Deputy Superintendent think the public does have a right to review.

Bill Haslam will make a wonderful governor for Tennessee. I feel certain that he will carry East Tennessee and Hamilton County.

It would be great for this area to be represented by a person that is not a career politician. I know that Zack Wamp needs another job or political office, but frankly I fail to the any substance there.

I would support Wamp to be a Hamilton County Commissioner. He has always been in a position over his head as a congressman, college drop out, admitted drug user, yep he is perfect for county commission.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the "several" times shot by officers was more like 60 times plus. Last time I check "several" meant like around three or so. Maybe a better word to sugar coat this, would be shot "multiple" times.

You got to be kidding, efc03, the DA might not of done a great job, but the DNA in his pants found at his residence did a fantastic job.

Tracy take that "baby" and "watch you butt in prison" for real "baby."

God Bless the courage of the young woman, a role model for all women!
