As a 29 year veteran of public safety and emergency response mitigation, we have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into vehicle extraction equipment and training which we use almost daily to rescue the motoring public from side impact crashes caused by someone trying to beat a light signal change. It would appear to me, the cheaper venture is to prevent 90 degree right angle impact crashes by seruptitious or other means as opposed to expanding our ability to prepare for additional rescue attempts not to mention the costs for emergency medical intervention during the golden hour. Took a ride in an ambulance lately and seen the bill? Moving 3-4 miles and hour through and
intersection does not constitute a bonafide stop in the eyes of the law. What is the difference you ask? About $70. Every time we find a way to reduce the liklihood a fire truck roles through and intersection we just reduced the risk to you and your family. I'll take proactive over reactive every time.
