A wonderful article and congratulation to the students of Calvin Donaldson Elementary School! As you move forward in your education make sure to keep that same spirit and drive. Education is power and with that power your become dreams obtainable.

Facts, I agree 100%: "The public needs to watch this, not because it involves abortion, but because it involves a lawmaker or two or three who have acted outside the legislative process."

To speak to the other side of the main issue that people want to argue it amazes me how people are so against Planned Parenthood when they provide soooo many other beneficial programs that help people of all races and economical statuses. Abortions are ONLY covered using tax payer money when there’s a case of rape or incest and both circumstances must be proven w/ documentation provided by police/medical provider (doctor) such as a police report/medical examination. In those situations I could never imagine someone denying a woman HER right to terminate the pregnancy. I’ve never been in either of those situations (Thank God) so it is not my place to judge the women that choose to do so or place my religious/moral beliefs upon them and create bogus legislation to deny them their rights! Also people complain about the abundance of welfare recipients and how irresponsible they are BUT when it comes to forking out money to educate people that can lead them to making better decisions for their lives no one wants to pay. Sadly we don’t live in a world where everyone carries their own financial weight so you can either pay to educate people or deal with consequences (i.e. surplus in welfare recipients).

Great story! I tried to go vegetarian a few times after seeing all the videos on the PETA site but that would only last a few days. I just can't resist the salty-delicious taste of bacon as awful as that sounds BUT I would love to try going vegetarian again. I'm eating pigs-n-a blanket as I type so I guess it's too late to start today. Tomorrow is looking promising though! :)

Love the story TFP, very informative! The immigration battle is very hard when there are so many components to consider and I'm glad law makers aren't jumping the gun to rush legislation. On the other hand it's about time this country really looks at immigration on all sides of the arguments although I don't agree with Arizona's actions. Ever seen the movie Machete? The movie is over dramatized for affect BUT all the main racial elements of the movie are very realistic in the way that illegal’s are treated and looked upon, it's sad.

My fiance and I are getting married in June and I have to say that I'm more than happy to be committing to marriage but we've also been together for 5+yrs and invested into "us" a long time ago from the very beginning. I do believe there are many reasons WHY NOT to get married (finances, unstability, adultry,etc...) but I don't think reasons for marriage (marriage for all- Gay/Straight) aren't promoted enough. What scary is almost every older couple that I've known is almost divorce after like 20yrs of marriage, you don't even see it coming. But I have to say though, thank God I found an amazing man because the pickings out there REALLY REALLY bad!

Hey independentlighthouse,

Although I love all my military men/women I would have to say my favorite US Army MOS would be infantry due to them being directly on the front lines plus it doesn't hurt that the uniforms (particularly Desert Camouflage)and combat boots make my mouth water, yum yum. I also have a special place in my heart for our Air defense. I did JROTC-ARMY in high school (Charlie Company Commander) and had planned to join the military after school but I went to college instead, and just plain chickened out haha.A strange but good question to ask, why?
