Just another example of non humters complaining about using lands that they have never paid for. Talk about a bunch of welfare free loaders! Birdwatchers are the worst.
Time for the bird watchers to waste TWRA funds that they do not contribute to.
Who is going to pay to shake the eggs? Non hunters have contributed near nothing to the comeback of the sandhill crane. Hunters on the other hand will pay to control populations while the money they spend goes to benefit all wildlife. TWRA has used hunters dollars for years to help the cranes. They see no money from the thousands of people that watch the cranes every year. Local bird watchers love to watch but, are not willing to pay the big money it takes to manage these wild lands. Hunters on the other hand are willing to pay once again to have an opportunity to hunt the very species they have been paying for these past 20 years or so. It's always funny to see bird watchers complain about the hunters. Put your money where your mouth is birders.
I find it odd that both candidates for this position aspire to complete the greenway all the way to the mouth of the gulf without any apparent knowledge of how local landowners and sportsmen feel about the subject. A little homework is probably in order before the candidates approach this subject again.
