Good morning, I have a few things on my mind after reading this article. First off, if the principal is so concerned about test results, then maybe she should have waiting til the end of the school year to move. It DOES NOT make since to make a huge move like this when the school year is winding down. If the students do not test well, it will be on the shoulders of those who decided now was a great time to change. what ever you do, DO NOT put that SHAME on the STUDENTS! The shame should be carried by the people responsible for making the decision at such a crucial time!

PS: To DR. "Tipping" Scales and his side kick Kranz: Any more thoughts on how to best serve the children with mood disorders? Or are you still concerned about your LITTLE Budget! Dr. "Tipping" Scales, Are are sleeping any better or are you still tossing and turning at night with all of that Guilt?

To whom ever reads this:

First off, there is a budget deficient and I understand this. I also know that the economy may or may not have helped things. But there a few things that trouble me and others. Scales and Kranz are talking/considering closing four schools but yet there is talk about building a brand new elementary school. This makes me SHUTTER when I think of this. There is not enough funds in the budget to keep several of the schools open, but yet a new school is to be built. I have some very good advice, LET GO of the PROSPECTS of a new school and put the funds being used for that to SAVE and IMPROVE the other schools that SCALES wants to close down! How can SCALES say that he tosses and turns at night, when he is part of the decision to close these schools! I have another question, who is going to get hired to teach at this new facility? Is it going to all new staff, or are you going to be kind enough to give some people their positions/jobs back that you, Kranz and Scales want to cut? DR. Scales and Tommy Kranz, do anyone of you have children that has been taught here in Hamilton county? If not, then how can DR. SCALES toss and turn at night? I honestly can not see how SCALES or KRANZ would have problems sleeping when they are part of the decision making! The only way that I could understand this is if SCALES and KRANZ both have GUILY CONSCINCES! There are many more things to worry about than deciding which schools to close! What are going to happen to the CHILDREN of Hamilton county? How many more CHILDREN are going to be LEFT BEHIND? And HOW MANY FAMILIES are you going to tare apart?

To anyone who cares: We have a CLEAR PROBLEM here and it just is not in TENN. It seems to be across the nation, especially in the south. There are many people who have to wait until they are almost dead before they can receive help or what seems as an eternally! And even when they get seen, with the exception of the first visit, it seems like the sessions go for 5 min or a little longer if the consumer is fortunate. Then it is usually goes something like this: I will see you in three months, good luck with everything! Some psychiatrist, nurse practitioners , etc. don't even necessarily recall who the consumer is that they are about to check up on, or their files get misplaced because the providers are over loaded! Many mistakes have the potential to be made in this way. I personally know a nurse practitioner who has over 600 consumers under her care alone. How in creation does she keep up with all of them and how many errors are made!

I feel that the idea of allowing certain psychologists to proscribe medication is wonderful plus they have the counseling background to go with everything else. I do agree that they should have a year or so of additional training in the use of medication. This move would allow many more consumers to receive help and education!

Those of you who disagree, especially medical professions, GET OFF OF YOUR PETTI STOOLS, LET GO OF THAT EGO, and think about what is best for us CONSUMERS! thanks!

To whom ever may read this TAKE NOTE; I am very sickened at what is going on with the Hamilton County School system. First off, instead of the elimination of 130 positions, find other useful positions for these dedicated workers. WORKING with A SKELITON CREW is going to be a NO,NO! When positions are cut, our children are CHEATED! Our children's needs are already not being met in the first place! If you want to cut something, Cut the salaries of the big shots such Dr. SCALES, Tommy Kranz, and others. Part of the budget is the payroll! I know of children whose needs are not being met appropriately. They are suffering. We can use more people such as guidance counselors, tutors, and a board of individuals who do nothing but make sure that children with disabilities, emotional or otherwise, get appropriate accommodations! Some of these accommodations would be early intervention, IEPs, 504s plans, tutoring, and other needs. A lot of time and money could be saved by doing something wonderful for our children. Some children are being mistreated in the Hamilton school system and I will not STAND BY and continue to watch or to hear about it. If you want to talk about something, talk about the best ways to serve our students. One other thing that I am noticing and it is upsetting me is, The board of education are having other agencies, such as Department of children's services, do their dirty work for them! THIS NEEDS to STOP! Dr Scales has better things to worry about than DISTROYING the lives of FAMILIES!
