Homosexuality, or any kind of sexuality for that matter, is irrelevant to developing the moral, mental, and physical abilities of boys and young men within a group. Scouting is friendship, leadership, camping, camaraderie, and service to the community. Scouting is a healthy alternative to activities that do not improve a young man's health, confidence, or leadership ability such as using drugs, joining gangs, playing video games, or watching TV.

Scouting also teaches civic responsibility, how to handle money, how to plan, how to apply first aid. Your average Eagle Scout is better prepared to survive outdoors and handle a crisis than a soldier. Believe it. It takes years to make an Eagle Scout, but even a scout that does not reach that level still learns valuable things and enjoys the experiences.

Not every kid is a gifted athlete. If a kid just wants to go outside, go backpacking, bike, climb, swim, learn how to build a fire and cook on it, sleep in a tent, use a compass, canoe, ect. why does some gay adult have to prance in and selfishly stick his sexuality in there?

Why do liberals hate scouting? Liberals hate scouting because scouting makes achievers who love their country and place a high value on serving their community. Over 30 US astronauts were first Eagle Scouts including James Lovell. Gerald Ford, Jimmy Stewart, Walter Cronkite, and Steven Spielberg are also Eagle Scouts.

Scouting does not need to solve the internal conflict of annoying, pathetic, self-centered people looking for acceptance for their adult choices. Some kid just trying to grow up and figure themselves out should not have to contemplate an adult's sexual preference.

Behold! The Arbiters of All Things Acceptable are not on the coasts, they are here in the bucolic mountain hamlet between Atlanta and Nashville known as Chattanooga within the building of the Times Free Press. If the editor of this rag considers its readers to be crass, "racist", profane, "enraged", and inaccurate in regards to facts, it could be because your newspaper's level of journalism attracts a comparable readership. Ms. Gerber, you would do best by trying to elevate the journalistic capability of your own staff before you wag your self-righteous finger at we the unwashed masses. Your omnipotent staff of J-School rejects struggle at times to write a coherent story, much less one that has the typical liberal slant. Go ahead Big Sister, sell out. Newspapers are only good for wrapping fish in the electronic age. If you feel your paper will improve as a result of "homogenized and sanitized for you protection" comments, there are other places to obtain information just a click away. Goodbye.

Yeah liberals, you can exercise you right to vote without a ID when I can exercise my second amendment without an ID.

Maybe he can turn his apartments into brothels, he's already got a pimpin' hat. In general, subsidies artificially raise the cost of a commodity at a cost many times greater than the value imparted. Such is the case in farming subsidies and such is the case here. Think about the overhead of all of the mushrooms that sit around on their big fat cans handing out the cheese.

Quads suck. They should be shot on sight. They tear up trials so the trails get closed down. Stupid parents let their kids ride them unsupervised. They are often screaming down trails with little thought to people riding the other way. If you can't do it on two wheels, get off the trail.

As for the street, who cares what the speed limit is? A public road is for registered vehicles right?

No helmets. Brilliant. How long will it take for some knee jerk reactionary politician seeking insurance lobbyist money to get some law passed so a leisurely ride on 100F day requires a helmet.

Great work with the donormobiles. May the new owners of the donated organs give them better use.

Enterprise South Motorists, a lot o' money and engineering was spent to make that easy. Come in on I75 exit 9. Use the BIG WIDE ROAD TO the 1st roundabout and follow it to the left. Go past VW. GO through the 2nd roundabout while being attentive and considerate. Go past the entrance to Amazon and down to the third roundabout and use it to make a "U-turn" back to the Amazon entrances. If you don't come charging into the roundabouts at warp speed, you can almost cruise stress free into work without barely using the brakes and no stoplights. Left, straight, left, right. Can all you NASCAR fans figure out how to make a right turn?

Also - GOING HOME why do people make left turns at the VW drive onto I-75 North? Do you see the EXIT RAMP on the right? Again, Can all you NASCAR fans figure out how to make a right turn?
