What do you expect? He doesn't want us to know how much he has ripped off the gasoline buying public in Tennessee. I have not trusted him since day 1, I do not trust him now and I will never trust him. He is a part of the biggest form of greed in our society today...the oil and gasoline industry. And now he has control of the state budget. Just wonderful, right? Hopefully a one term wonder. It wouldn't shock me if he mentioned the words "income tax".

I don't have a dog in this fight as I live in Bradley County, but I think the decision is obvious. Put Coppinger in!! EVERY Chattanooga Firefighter I have talked to had high praise for Chief Coppinger. He is EXACTLY what hamilton county needs. Someone who made good decisions quickly. As a Fire Chief, he is used to making decisions that may be hard to make, but don't need to be deliberated on too long. A lawyer, on the other hand, is going to take too long to make important decisions since he'll have to "research" the topic at hand for as long as he can stretch it out. Coppinger is a proven LEADER, carter is not. It's ashamed to see politicians hold the citizens of hamilton county hostage the way they are.

Great, just what we need it this economy. It seems like the merchants could band together and explain that the higher prices WILL keep folks out of the Waterfront area. (And NO, you do not have to actually SEE water for it to be called the waterfront area.) Just another example where the City Council needs to step in and set limits on what the (Un)Republic company can charge. It WILL affect my decision to go downtown. I won't be going near as often if I have to pay that rate. Where do they get their lesson plan from, Atlanta? Do we really want to be like them?

I'm confused! I work in the NW metro ATL area and the nearby Lake Alltoona was very, very full this summer. Are they planning on being out of water already??? Here is an idea... The State of Georgia can build a biiiig pipe down the middle of I-75 and put a commuter rail on top of it and we will sell them water. Well, it makes as about as much sense as them stealing our water! Go away Oxendine! Leave Tennessee alone.
