A limit of four non-blacks per roster. What if a predominately white league limited their teams to four non-whites per team? Would we get screams of racism? Can we have it both ways or should we be consistent here?
I am betting that if a group tried to schedule a tournament on public fields that limited minorities they would not be allowed.
I am a season ticket holder for the Huntsville Stars. When the Mississippi Braves came to town I was excited to see Hayward play. His first game here he hit a home run to right that is unlike most any other home run I have ever seen hit. To best describe it you can remember how an announcer will say "its going, its going, its going.." as you see the ball climb up and eventually go out. Well, Hayward hit a screaming liner to right field that if you were listening to the announcer it would have gone " its" then the ball was not only out, but still traveling flat to the ground as it screamed out. The quickest homerun I have ever seen.
What a joke. Edwards should be gone for the season. He admits he intentionally tried to wreck another driver. What if he did wreck somebody and they died? Ah, that would be murder or at least manslaughter. For NASCAR to openly allow this is akin to gladiator games in ancient Rome.
When a building/road/stadium is named in memorium for a person, that should be left forever. To remove the name and use a corporate name is an insult to the memory of the person involved. Do not rename Lovell Field. Now, if you want to name the airport after a corporation that would be a different matter, just be careful and choose wisely.
Cities/schools/states/etc should take using a person's name in memorium very seriously. Obviously the people who were involved in the original naming of Lovell Field felt very strongly about it. Those people are no longer around to defend their viewpoint.
By renaming a building/street/complex for money, that was named in memorium to a corporate name, aren't you effectively almost selling the soul of the person who was memorialized?
Leave it Lovell Field. Chattanooga Bellsouth Airport, ATT Chattanooga Airport, UNUM Airport, who cares? But leave it Lovell Field.
I have to agree. This is the Chattanooga newspaper, not the Knoxville paper. Who cares about Knoxville? Let their paper cover their team. The Mocs are Chattanooga's hometown team. Hey TFP, cover the Mocs, the News Sentinel can cover the orange team 100 miles away.

NASCAR puts Carl Edwards on probation for 3 races

Uch is the man when it comes to sports reporting in Chattanooga!
Coleman weighing options
A degree from UTC is better than a degree from UTK. Everybody knows about the "academic integrity" issues associated with UTK football players.
Lovell Field naming rights could boost airport revenues
