What really needs to happen on this line is COMMUTER service. It would really help the community for people to be able to get from Summerville to LaFayette and Chattanooga.
bpqd is spot on. There's no excuse for $300k/+ being spent again, most of it directed out of state. I agree the website needs improvement, but the City Council really needs to revisit how it's spending its money, b/c there's no way the site as it exists is worth paying $300k for.
The problem with the tea partying crowd is that their leaders have somehow managed to convince them that they represent ABSOLUTELY EVERYBODY in their entire constituency. They REALLY believe this.
It is not, of course, the case, and Mr. Deal will be sadly disillusioned by the reception his candidacy gains from the electorate. I'd hazard a guess that most of us are skeptical of his candidacy and a surprising number of us are flat-out opposed.
