Women should never give up the right to choose what happens to them. After all, it is their body and no one else's. Once the right to choose what happens to them is taken, will it ever be returned? Probably not.

When the next election comes around I am voting against my present commissioner. The county commission let's everybody in the country drive in our county without emmission testing. Then they force me to test my car. No way is just testing the cars of Hamilton County residents making that big of a change in the air quality on Hamilton County.

Once again I say this would be a great time to revamp the tax systen in this country. Part of proof is all this arguing by tax exempt political groups. The tea party is not a social group. They support to many people running for office. That makes them a political party. Same thing for the Republicans and Democrats. No exemptions for anyone or any group, and that includes churches.

Why did Carta contract with Republic Parking to monitor parking in Chattanoooga? This move alone seems fishy to me. We have the fox guarding the hen house. I am sure that more parking tickets mean they make more money by increasing parking in the Republic lots. And don't forget the money they make from their cut of the tickets issued.

The Republicans are trying to keep as much talk in the news about the the IRS and Benghazi as possible because they are afraid that Hillary Clinton will give them a spanking in 2016. The Democrats are talking out both sides of their mouth because they are afraid the Republicans will succeed. It's all politics as usual for Washington D.C. How about they all shut their mouths and invest all this energy toward running the country.

I don't know why the tea party or any other party is up in arms about the IRS. Everyone has known for years that unlike our courts where you are presumed innocent until proven guilty, at the IRS everyone is guilty before they walk in the door to explain their tax filing. I have to agree with an earlier post. Now would be a good time to overhaul the tax system in this country. Fair taxes for everyone. No exemptions for anyone.

I had always thought the Republican's were in favor of reduced government and spending. This legislative session doesn't appear to follow what they have preached for years. It looks like we have a new tax and spend party in Tennessee.

I feed and clothe my own family before I help my neighbor. All the money being sent to foreign counries would go a long way to help solve problems in this country. Nearly every day we hear politicians talk about reducing spending in this country by cutting programs that are needed by the young, old, and sickly. Why don't we hear them say they are going to stop sending money to other countries until we can afford it? Why, because most of the politicians in this country are bought and paid for. Not by John Public but by rich companies.

I have read several of the opinions on this forum, and while most like to express their opinion they offer no real solutions. Mostly they want to bash each other. Well I have a suggestion. The religious groups that are such big proponents of pro life in this country should put their money where their mouth is. Instead of building huge churches why not take all that money and build orphan homes and shelters. By building places to help house these children saved from abortion, pro-life advocates can prove they are really sincere.

The death penalty is a difficult issue. Should we execute or not? I think the death penalty in it's simplest form is a strong incentive not commit a crime. But it does not appear to be working very well.

A good example is Texas. As one comedian likes to put it on national TV, Texas is puttin' in and express lane. If that were actually the case it would appear that the death penalty does not stop crime.

Leave the death penalty on the books but set limits to how it is used. Set the rules firmly to protect against executing an innocent person. But by the same token don't allow excessive appeals. If execution is warranted, then do it in a timely fashion so that victims families don't have to be re-live the hurt time and time again.
