Where was the 'rage' from the Times Free Press editors and republican legislators when $10 billion a month was being thrown away in Iraq for the last five years?? It's okay for republicans to shovel OUR money away to foreigners - with nothing to show for it. But money for American families and infrastructure is unacceptable?! Waste?! Pork?! Considering the actions of Corker, Alexander, Wamp, and their fellow republicans, one would think they received their pay from Arab governments, not American taxpayers.

What was the vote total for the Corker-Alexander stimulus bill? Oh that's right, they don't have one! Too busy carrying water for the rich I guess - pushing for more tax cuts, getting rid of pesky union workers who want to be paid a decent wage, eliminating healthcare for children, de-regulating TVA water quality standards,.....

Does the writer want health care for children or not? Looks to me like the writer simply wants to bash the president and Democrats for making an effort to address an extremely serious problem the country has had festering for decades. They were elected to solve problems, and it appears they are trying to do just that. Says nothing about any competing plan from the writer, Republicans or others.

The writer also makes a false assumption - since 2.4 million families are eligible for private insurance, that families can therefore pay for the insurance. Most adults understand that each of us can be "eligible" for some type of health coverage. Pre-existing conditions, excessive costs, or any number of other factors can be reasons why we don't have health coverage.

I question the writers integrity. Looks more like a piece of propaganda from an insurance lobbyist, than someone genuinely interested in helping children obtain healthcare.

Rep Wamp should be seeing to it that the bailout funds are all accounted for. He appears to be saying (in this article) that he didn't bother to follow up after his vote to make sure the law was implemented appropriately. Billions of our tax dollars are gone and he doesn't have the slightest idea of where they went to?! Where's his accountability? No wonder the economy is a disaster! This is welfare - Wamp's collecting a paycheck without doing the work.

Alexander, Corker and Wamp propose a tax credit??? Nation has gone from losing thousands of jobs a day to losing tens-of-thousands of jobs a day, and these idiots are on Fox News saying 'cut taxes for the rich'! Unbelievable! Now they say "90% of the problem is the credit market" - Six months ago they said the nation's financial system was strong! The sad truth is, these fools don't have a clue about what the problems are or how to solve them. It's amazing how out of touch they are!

Bob Croker & Lamar Alexander say we need to keep giving tax cuts to the rich - that'll fix things! The rest of us will be eating dog food soon with the Corker/Alexander economic plan.

Send a big thank you letter to Lamar Alexander, Bob Corker, Bill Frist and Fred Thompson - the deregulators. Why aren't any of these "leaders" bringing charges against Wall Street crooks?

The Dems shouldn't even bother running for office in TN. Let the Repugs continue running the state into the ground like they've done nationally. Once citizens have nothing left, maybe they'll wake up and vote for the Dems. Until then, get used to drinking sludge.

Why doesn't Corker volunteer a paycut and benefit cut for himself? At least the union workers have something to show for their labor at the end of the day. VW was going to pick any state in the south that gave them huge concessions. According to Corker, giving away our tax dollars to foreigners and screwing American auto workers (& their families) is good business! American auto builders and workers have been paying US taxes for over 100 years! VW pays nothing!!! Corker the scab wouldn't give fellow Americans a LOAN at a time when they needed it the most!

If Corker was truly the statesman he'd have us believe, he would lead by example and voluntarily take a pay and vacation reduction. Why should just the average workers be penalized in this economy? Unfortunately, the truth is he is playing games with millions of peoples livelihoods. If union workers supported his party, he'd be bending over backward and would write a check for whatever it took to bail them out. He's the most cynical type of politician - he doesn't care about fellow Americans, only republican supporters! In Georgia, a $90 million I-85 off-ramp was finished yesterday for a new Kia plant - just a small fraction of the fortune being doled out to foreigners! Where's Corker, Chambliss, Isakson outrage on that money!
