These banners are over the line because they are an "official" part of the game and therefore government sanctioned. As for the "we're the majority" argument, I would remind my Conservative Christian friends that they may not always be the majority. Freedom from government-endorsed religion is good for everybody -- even those whose religion the government would endorse. And finally, why does all this reaction sound and feel like a football game itself -- with banners and rallies and "Go Team!" and such? Speaking only for myself, I hear the voice of God in quiet, thoughtful, meditative times. Can't say I've ever looked into His face at a football game.
