A sequel, how about Bad News Bears with the original characters on the team now parents and raising a new group of knuckleheads.
An aside, I read not long ago the girl playing the pitcher in the Billy Bob Thornton remake passed away in a car accident. Sad.
The conspiracy theorist in me would believe Clemson got the benefit of a doubt on NC State's called-back touchdown, due to the league wanting Clemson in a national title game. But that would be silly, wouldn't it?
Floyd Patterson and Pink Floyd.
Locker was Turrible with a capital T except for two drives. That's not good enough in the N-F-L. Short pass late in the fourth could have been enough to win the game. The Titans hurt themselves with 3 straight penalties at their goal line too leading to the safety. All three wiped out positive gains.
We went back to the Mocs game after considering calling it a wrap after the Martin game, and we enjoyed it, even if Peay would literally have a hard time with some high school teams.
I watched much of the Tennessee and Alabama games yesterday. Tennessee just doesn't have enough bricks yet but it's coming. Alabama, just pencil them in against Ohio State. Oregon will slip up somewhere and Alabama will hammer the Buckeyes. The Big 10 is Turrible. How about Lil Bowden beating that 37 spread at Michigan?
Seattle vs San Fran was worth only getting 4 hours of sleep.
Want to get to see Ooltewah vs East Hamilton before halftime, you better get there early.
No more slaps on the wrist for violent offenders, burglars, and dope sellers. Some of these criminals are beyond rehabilitation. Get them off the street for as long as possible, not hand out probation for assault/battery and burglaries.
I've never understood the reasoning on why signing with an agent/taking money from an agent should cost a player his eligibility. He's not playing for pay, he's receiving pay to be represented with the expected goal of eventually playing pro football. I don't like cheating in any form but it's something outside the teams' control, why not just ignore it.
Sohn, the Howard article mentioned knee-high grass. Nobody there could even bother to mow it apparently. There has to be some push from the locals there, too.
You know the NFL is back when we get as many Rob Ryan shots on the sideline as of the head coaches.
I hate the Steelers center-one of the best in the game-was injured, but it was caused by the guard trying to dive and take out at defensive lineman's knee. He just whiffed. It was hardly a "fall" as the announcers tried to say it was.
Titans OL and DL looked stout. Eventually the quarterback will have to make some plays.
"Scandal" is the word being used by those who think Huesman's lie is not a big deal, to overexaggerate and make those disappointed by it seem to be worrying about nothing. "Disappointment" is the word I would use. If Robinson had not been part of the drama last year, would violation of team rules been the stated reason with no hesitation?
Yes, so much for Duck sleepiness. The Vols are in trouble, maybe 60+ allowed.
The Packers got back in it, partially, with the run, then completely abandoned it again late. Eddie Lacy looked pretty good.
If Clowney goes to the Jaguars next year, their offense will still be terrible. Two more years of 2 or 3 wins and then they can draft the Florida State quarterback.
UTC's offense is "close", close to maybe putting the head coach on the hotseat. It's time to put up or shut up. We have decided to go back to games this year but we were close to just calling it a wrap after that dud last week.
I'd be worried about Oregon traveling to the East Coast for a game, regardless of time, even with a 3 touchdown spread. Look at the way it affects pro teams.
I would have liked to have seen a replay of the possible bobbling catch by Clemson along the sideline, on third and long pretty late in the game. They got the next play off before it could be looked at, apparently. And if Georgia makes a chip shot field goal as they should have, it's possibly we have totally different impressions of both teams.
The Science Guy and Snooki have a lot if common, Nye is insistent global warming could lead to the fall of civilization, Snooki is a direct part of it.
Moonkat, Cook, and other handwringers might be surprised to know the director of that song's video-with the explicit version featuring models running around topless-is a woman. And no, I've not seen it so it may be relatively mild compared to a lot of stuff out there.
Cook, the phrase getting into a woman's pants goes along with the crudeness of the song, that's the goal of the character in the song. It's not rape. Convincing a woman to hop in the sack isn't rape. You may not be old enough to remember the 2 Live Crew specifically, their lyrics made Thicke's lyrics look like church hymns. They were "forbidden" songs back during junior high, and were listened to nearly daily. As far as I know, and word would get around, none of my friends raped anyone through high school or college or have since, though of course you lost contact over the years. A savage act like that is a choice made, or not made, and blaming it on a song is pathetic.
Special teams meltdowns, critical turnovers at the worst times, and just plain egg-laying have been commonplace with the Mocs the last several years even when they appear to be more talented than the opponent. How many years does a coach get, regardless of how pitiful a program was before, until the seat becomes hot? We're debating whether to go back or not this year.
