Amnesty just encourages more aliens to illegally enter America. We need to stop educating illegal alien children. We currently have federal law that requires our public schools to admit and educate these children, while American children suffer. For every dollar spent to educate an illegal alien child, that is one less for America's children.

Free educations and amnesties are just bait to keep them coming over and over again. For the first time since the Great Depression we are witnessing reverse migration. Because of America's weak economy, many illegal aliens are returning to their countries. Why would we have an amnesty when we can get rid of these people through attrition of reverse migration and deportation.

The only people in the Western Hemisphere that are truly politically oppressed are Cuban's and they have to get a foot on an American beach to gain permanent residency (green card). As I see it, that is the only thing wrong with our immigration policies.

The last amnesty sure never cured anything, it just gave us more starving people. We can't feed, educate and medicate the world!

I totally agree with the article. Having served as a patrol agent with the U.S. Border Patrol for ten years, and then serving as a special agent for another thirteen years, I have witnessed the abuse of America's immigration laws. The last amnesty was nothing more than a horrendous fraud. The only thing wrong with our current law, is that it takes too long to deport illegal aliens. We need to find ways to expedite the process.

Many of those that received green cards through the last amnesty weren't eligible for the two programs, which were the "Special Agricultural Worker" (SAW) and those that had illegally entered prior to a specified date in the early 1980s. There were thousands from India, Pakistan, China and other countries that claimed they were illegal to obtain the permanent residency, while they had actually entered as non-immigrant students or tourists.

There were so many applicants and so much paper to examine that the government couldn't keep up with it, so they merely rubber stamped approvals on the applications.

I successfully prosecuted a NYC immigration law firm that did almost exclusively fraudulent filings for amnesty applicants. The firm was so blatant that they even hired the people they legalized through the fraud. The law firm hired Gambino crime family lawyers to represent them in the proceedings.

The lawyers eventually plead guilty to felony fraud charges, but the thousands of aliens they "legalized" got away with it, simply because the responsible government agency lacked the resources to go after the beneficiaries. Many are now U.S.Citizens.

The Democrats want the votes and the Republicans want cheap labor, that is why it was bi-patrisan in 2007, the last time they tried selling an amnesty to the American people. La Raza and the American Immigration Lawyers Association backs amnesty to raise money and to increase their profits.

And if you are foolish enough to think it will be an additional 12-20 million getting legalized, research "chain migration!"
