I went to the North Shore design committee hearing Thursday and was surprised to hear one of the committee members (Mr. Sawyer) recuse himself from the Publix discussion because is involved in the project. It seems to me that if you are going to be on the design committee then you would not be working on a project which is in clear violation of the standards in the first place. That kind of behavior is entirely inappropriate and Mr. Sawyer ought to resign from the committee. It begs the question. Did the developer hire Mr. Sawyer because he was on the committee hoping he would influence his fellow committee members? That would not be a surprise.
