Well Larry won thankfully. Don't let the door hit you in the rear end on your way out Jack. You can join your buddy Ron Littlefield and your fellow "rubberstamp" soon to be ex-council members (Pam Ladd, Manny Rico, & Andre McGary) out of Chattanooga political office.

Mayor Ron Littlefield's Legacy: Forced annexations, a "rubberstamp city council" (Jack Benson, Pam Ladd, Manny Rico, & Andre McGary), interference into judicial affairs (Pet store, etc.), hiring a old buddy who is a sexual harasser with a 6 figure salary (Paul Page), a recall legal fight, raising property and sewer taxes. Is this Chattanooga, TN or a 3rd world dictatorship?

Don't let this article fool you. Jack Benson pretty much green lighted anything Mayor Ron Littlefield wanted. Mr. Annexation himself (Jack Benson) wants Chattanooga to extend its boundaries even further through forced annexation (against the county property owner's will) even though Chattanooga cannot even afford to take care of the city limits as they currently are. Jack Benson needs to join his other Ron Littlefield "rubberstamp" buddies (Pam Ladd, Manny Rico, and Andre McGary) as EX-Chattanooga City Council members.

Jack Benson is a "rubberstamp: for whatever Mayor Ron Littlefield wanted to force down the throats of the citizens of Chattanooga (and citizens of Hamilton County by extension). In addition, Jack Benson seems to think "Sunshine Laws" are optional when it comes him and his special interests (i.e. Panera Bread, CBL, etc.) having competition (IHOP). Don't let the door hit you in the rear end on your way out of office Jack.

The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority is run about the same way as Mayor Ron Littlefield and his "ruberstamp city council" (Jack Benson, Pam Ladd, Manny Rico, and Andre McGary) ran the city of Chattanooga; corrupt and incompetent.

OK, porn aside, there are obviously opponents to EPB offering high speed Internet and cable. So would these opponents be in favor of Comcast/Infinity (or whatever the they change their name to next in order to hide their terrible reputation) having the monopoly in high speed Internet and cable? I'm not counting AT&T's DSL U-Verse in this conversation because their speeds are no where in comparison to the cable providers. Choice is good. For decades the cable companies have had near monopoly pricing and availability power to gouge the customer and provide required package offerings with a lot of things customers' do not want but pay for to get the few premium channels they do want. Competition actually benefits the customer.

The new mayor and city council should take a hard and objective look at the city and decide what is essential and what is not. It's pretty clear that Mayor Ron Littlefield and his "rubberstamp city council" (i.e. Jack Benson, Pam Ladd, Manny Rico, & Andre McGary) were more interested in looking out for their best interests than the city of Chattanooga and its' citizens.

If Ron Littlefield tries to gain any other public position anywhere, hopefully the Chattanooga, TN & Hamilton County, TN citizens remember all the damage he has done and hold any local political appoint er accountable. If he goes out of state, the local citizens here can provide plenty of insight to those voters. In regard to private sector, anyone who would hire Ron Littlefield would be a fool.

Since soon to be ex-Mayor Ron Littlefield has 8 years of mayoral corruption experience, perhaps he could set his sights on Detroit? He would fit right in where the previous mayor Kirkpatrick was just convicted on 24 counts of corruption.

Mayor Littlefield, don't let the door hit you in the rear end on your way out. Soon your buddy Jack Benson can join you as well.
