I am all for good teachers being paid their worth and then some. BUT if I am right - was not this money from a Federal Jobs Assistance package? To that end - it is to be used (as Mr. Galloway says) for Grant Funded Positions. If the Board was to give this money out as Bonuses then the Grant Funded Positions would be dismissed and those people would be JOBLESS. Is that what is wanted in these times? At least this Board has shown more responsibility than Littlefield has shown. Thank you.

I would be more than happy to assist in easing the teachers burden some. Although I am not a teacher I am sure there are some things that I could do to help. I am also sure there are others that would be more than happy to also assist.

I just love all these 'Politically Correct' posters and the author of this article. What a joke you all are.

Look up the definition of Immigrant: 1. a person who migrates to another country, usually for permanent residence. 2. an organism found in a new habitat.

Look up the term Illegal Immigrant:

an alien (non-citizen) who has entered the United States without government permission or stayed beyond the termination date of a visa.

Look up the term Illegal Alien:

1. a foreigner who has entered or resides in a country unlawfully or without the country's authorization. 2. a foreigner who enters the U.S. without an entry or immigrant visa, especially a person who crosses the border by avoiding inspection or who overstays the period of time allowed as a visitor, tourist, or businessperson.

NOW look up the term INVADE:

  1. To enter by force in order to conquer or pillage.
  2. To encroach or intrude on; violate:
  3. To overrun as if by invading; infest:
  4. To enter and permeate, especially harmfully.

Now that we have the definitions let us call them for what they are. Illegal Aliens, and Invaders. As an example of our politicians cowardace towards enforcement of US laws we have a huge section of of US land closed (posted as unsafe for US citizens to travel on American soil) because of Illegal Alien/Invader traffic. US closes park land (Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge) along US/Mexico border to Americans. Invaders are coming in ARMED to escort these Illegal Aliens and their drugs into this country. Where is the outrage? Where is the call to arms? Where are our National Guard that is supposed to protect our nation? Oh that is right they are fighting overseas and do not have time to protect our borders. Imagine that.

No Chas Sisk most Tenesseeans do not oppose deportations, most only oppose using our tax dollars for it. Call them what they are and let the outrage commence.

All these cries of - guns are terrible, guns are dangerous, guns kill, ban all guns to protect Americans. What morons. We all know that Switzerland is a safe country to live in and they are a neutral country. BUT -- how many of you know that almost every Swiss owns a gun?

An Armed Society is a Free Society

Niccolò Machiavelli, though with more integrity, said of the Swiss that they were “the most free and most armed people” of Europe.

And for all the lies and laws in the US - the gun controllers’ claim that the mere presence of arms leads to mayhem. If this were true, the Swiss would have wiped themselves out long ago. There are guns and ranges all over the country. Ask any Swiss and you would be hard-pressed to find a home without a firearm and ammunition. Yet, the Swiss have a very low crime rate.

How many criminals would commit a crime on someone if they thought they were carrying a weapon? OR how many criminals would break into someones home if they were pretty sure there was a gun in the house? (see Switzerland's Crime Statistics)

Instead of sitting in your safe(?) surroundings thinking up ways to intrude into someone else's lifestyle try just keeping it to yourself. If you do not like it, DO NOT look. Of course if you are a liberal then you can not help yourself from butting into someone else's business, life, affairs, health, religion, or family harmony, that is just who you are.

If anyone has read the Qur'an -both-versions, then they know that this is not a true religion. It is nothing more than a cult. There is no equality, there is homosexuality, schizophrenic tendency's, paranoia, pedophilia, and male supremacy, It is encouraged that you lie to non-believers and islam is the only path to the 20 promised virgins. Do not start denying or vilifying me until you have read the Qur'an. I do not understand the females of the world. They should especially be outraged by this group of men. " It is allowed and expected that a muslim man should BEAT his wife for any reason he deems it is necessary". He can even force the womans family to take her back if he is not satisified, even years after marriage. Also it is permitted that a muslim man can marry a female of any age he sees fit, all the way to a 1 year old CHILD. The world is a sick place that allows things such as these.

Where is the outcry?

AND lest we forget "where there the practice of the islamic cult there is the practice of SHARIA LAW. Another abomination of so called justice. Yes it is also meted out by 'TOTAL MALE SUPREMACY'.

DO NOT BELIEVE ME? Read up on it yourself. Please show your ignorance by calling me a liar. Doubt what I am saying?

Start here: http://www.usc.edu/schools/college/crcc/engagement/resources/texts/muslim/quran/

From there you will find additional links to more on the islam cult. Make your own judgments.

First off I would like to inform you of the broken link to the - PowerPoint: Sales tax agreement presentation -.

Secondly as I see it, this is just another desperate grab for money to continue the city's incompetence of their fiduciary responsibilities. Littlefields lack of control over spending and curbing excess has reared an ugly head time and again. His use of land grabs for political party gains and forcing people to pay city taxes for services that are already stretched beyond reasonable expectations. The lack of sufficient police and firemen to protect what they have is beyond comprehension. The people of the city of Chattanooga deserve better. Too bad they are not getting it.

I see a few people on here that do read and understand the dire consequences of the "Social" Health Care Bill. AND there are those who still spout democratic rhetoric and socialist bilge. One -Plato- who portends to spout words of wisdom falls short and flat on this. Please read what the CBO can and cannot do. They can only use the information given to them and make their estimates from them, just like a computer, garbage in garbage out. AND if forcing everyone to purchase something by government mandate(law) is not considered Socialism then you had better read up on what Socialism really is. I suggest that if you like the government intrusion into you life then there are plenty of countries that have this and you are welcome to avail yourself of them.

Did you know that tucked away in this wonderful bill is an item that places a tax on you when you sell your house? 3.8% to be exact to start in 2013, and also in the bill is:

Please read carefully pages 50, 58, and 59. SUPRISE

** Page 50/section 152: The bill will provide insurance to all non-U.S. residents, even if they are here illegally.

** Page 58 and 59: The government will have real-time access to an individual's bank account and will have the authority to make electronic fund transfers from those accounts.

** Page 65/section 164: The plan will be subsidized (by the government) for all union members, union retirees and for community organizations (such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now - ACORN).

** Page 203/line 14-15: The tax imposed under this section will not be treated as a tax.(How could anybody in their right mind come up with that?)

** Page 241 and 253: Doctors will all be paid the same regardless of specialty, and the government will set all doctors' fees.

** Page 272. section 1145: Cancer hospitals will ration care according to the patient's age.

** Page 317 and 321: The government will impose a prohibition on hospital expansion; however, communities may petition for an exception.

** Page 425, line 4-12: The government mandates advance-care planning consultations. Those on Social Security will be required to attend an "end-of-life planning" seminar every five years. (Death counseling..)

** Page 429, line 13-25: The government will specify which doctors can write an end-of-life order.

These are just a few items, PLEASE read the Bill(law) carefully.

Finally, it is specifically stated that this bill will not apply to members of Congress. As we all know - Members of Congress - are already exempt from the Social Security system, and have a well-funded private plan that covers their retirement needs which includes medical, dental, and eye.

Are you surprised?

As you can see I do my homework and have the factual references to back up my posting. If you would like further evidence of the Health Care disaster then try these.

“Don’t pay attention to those scary stories about how your benefits will be cut.” (President Obama, 9/9/2009)

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Office of the Actuaries states: About half of all seniors with Medicare Advantage will lose their plans by 2017

In Kentucky alone: 55,000 seniors will lose benefits at an average of $816.00/yr in 2011. The rest will be lost by 2017.

Estimates in NY, are more server. Over 100,000, in 2011. In Fl. over 250,000, TX. over 150,000 in 2011.

I had better stop here as the list is so long that there is not enough room here. But do not take my word for it, PLEASE educate yourself before posting. Like they say in Washington, If you have a bad bill then attach it to a good bill that people like.

Are there any questions???

Post #2: 5 percent tax on cosmetic surgery and similar procedures such as Botox treatments, tummy tucks, and face lifts,[26] A tax on drug companies,[27] An increase in the corporate tax on providers of health insurance,[28] and A $500,000 deduction limitation for the compensation paid by health insurance companies to their officers, employees, and directors.[29]

More to Come:

The full list of taxes proposed to pay for health care reform is provided because taxes currently left out of the Senate or House bills could reappear at any point. For instance, the tax on cosmetic surgery listed above (sometimes called the "Botox tax") was written off long ago as a laughable way to pay for health care reform. Nevertheless, it somehow found its way into the current version of the Senate bill. References: [1]The Affordable Health Care for America Act, H.R. 3962, § 551.
