How many of those kids that Chrissy and Bill read to today will be in institutions like Mt.View and Woodland Hills in a few years where they don't care if they know how to read or write. Where did you get your education Bill? Private Schools! Are you too good to come and see the students at Taft? You had to drive within 22 mi. of Taft to get to Morgan Co. How about tomorrow Bill, or Monday, or are you afraid to face the employees of Taft and the students? What's your excuse? Shouldn't you at least come and see the facility and not just listen to o'day's lies.

There surely is somebody in Nashville who has some common sense. There seems to be nobody listening to the people. People who have proven that Haslam and o'day are liers and cheats. People with proven facts that Haslam takes care of those who take care of him. People who have testified to the facts that their lives were changed by time spent at Taft. Haslam and o'day have put pricetags on the lives of children. I would be willing to put Taft's record of children that have been helped and returned to society against haslam and o'day's record for I can tell you that they have not helped 1 child or human being without receiving large sums of money. O'day received a 50% pay increase, while other state employees received a 1.5% raise. That's a joke. They do not care for anyone except themselves. When haslam and o'day put price tags on children's lives, they have stepped over the line because they have shown that they have no moral character. Haslam is an elected official. Does he not work for us? Should he not listen to the people? They also want to destroy Civil Service so State employees with years of experience will not get jobs equal to the ones they lose. WHO PUT THIS DICTATOR IN OFFICE? How far will we let him go?

Mr. Cook you are absolutely correct. The employees of Taft Youth Center are far more than state employees. They are educators, motivators, and mentors to these young men. Mr. Lindsey is a prime example of what Woodland Hills does to its students that cause problems. But what they call destructive and problems, the employees at Taft see as potential. Mr. Lindsey shows that no student that comes to Taft is just "WAREHOUSED". This is what haslam and o'day want to do with these young men. Haslam and O'Day are out to pad their own pockets with taxpayer money. They've never met Drew Lindsey or any of the employees at Taft and they don't want to. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK TAFT EMPLOYEES! Mr. Cook has written some good articles about Taft. I am sure the Taft employees would like to meet him. Good job Mr. Cook.

Has Taft given up or realized Haslam cares nothing for Bledsoe Co. and the state of Tennessee? Who voted for this ????? There was once a dictator named Hitler that said,"The bigger the lie the more people will believe it." Have we fell for the lie? Look what happened to Germany. But more importantly the lives it cost. I have yet to hear how this decision will make things better for the students. We are called the Volunteer State because we stepped forward and did what was right. Nothing promised, nothing gained except a good name. Have we become so uncaring that the almighty dollar is more important than lives. God Bless our Great State of Tennessee!!!

Haslam/O'Day just how much is it going to cost to provide your "separate, free-standing program", at the children's services new visions facility in Nashville for the students transferred from Taft. I understand that there is no safety locks nor fencing around the perimeter at this institution. "COSTS" isn't this your big problem with Taft. What is the contract going to cost for the girls to go into private care. I don't think that you,O'Day, care about the future of the students that are supposedly your responsibility. Can you learn to drive a nail from a book? Can you learn to lay block from a book? Can you learn to weld from a book? Can you learn to be a barber from a book? Can you learn to be a mechanic from a book? Can you learn teamwork from a book? Can you learn any of this from a book, especially when you can't even read a book and nobody will take the time to teach you? We are stepping back into a time when we housed students then released them with no skills. Taft Youth Center challenges our integrity, our skills and our success rate against anything you can offer or have ever done.

If Haslam can find 31 million to keep Hardeman open, even though it was scheduled to be closed, why want he help Taft? What's wrong with Bledsoe County? Is it because we did not give him a $9500 campaign contribution like Corrections Corp. of America? Hardeman Co. correctional Facility is managed by CCA. This is a publicly traded Nashville based business that manages prisons across the U.S. which recorded profits of 1.2 billion in the first 3 quarters of 2011. Our tax dollars can't be used to keep Taft open but they can be used to keep CCA open, a billion dollar a year company. Do we as taxpayers have no say in how our tax dollars are being used? Isn't this a contradiction of Haslams own words? Budget cuts he said aren't the most important things. Wasn't Haslam in Chatt. today? Wasn't he in Dunlap about a month ago? Why doesn't he come to Taft and talk to the employees and the students?

What are we really looking at here? Ms. O'Day is all about money. What about these young mens lives. Does she even know our mission statement? Is Taft not there to rehabilitate, teach and give purpose to these young lives? In hopes of sending them out into society with the tools to succeed and change the lives of others. How do you put a price on a LIFE???4.4 million? Is that the price of 1 life or hundreds of lives,or maybe thousands of lives? How much Ms. O'Day?

The word "carpetbagger" comes to mind when you speak of O'Day,Dawson and Suddreth. If no one remembers what a carpetbagger is, it is a word used to describe a person who comes from another state or region to Tennessee to seek political and financial gain. Does this sound like O'Day, Dawson and Suddreth? Where did they come from? O'Day makes $12,000.00 a mon., plus what she has been promised when she moves all juvenile justice young people into private contract care. Has she already taken a payoff under the table? Has anyone ask what the private sector contracting is going to cost the taxpayers of the state of Tennessee? I would be willing to bet that it cost more than it would cost to keep Taft open. It really makes me angry that we, as Tennesseans, need carpetbaggers from other states to come into our state and take over our jobs.

I hope there are enough people left that care about the truth and can remember when your word was your bond. Because I have listened too and saw the appointees from Nashville stand in front of the State Rep., State Senator and Juvenile Judges and tell nothing but LIES! Not only does that show complete disrespect for the State Rep., State Senator and Juvenile Judges, but for the people that they are elected to represent. If you LIE to these people you have no respect for yourself and the people you think you know how to supervise. O'Day, Dawson and Suddreth have cost themselves any credibility with anyone they speak before or about on any subject. The Gov. needs to cut his ties with these people or he will lose his credibility with Tennessee. Their salaries are ridiculous, is the Governor paying for STUPIDITY??? He sure is getting his moneys worth in LIES! Congrats too him!

From reading all the post above, My conclusion to this is as follows: I think Ms.O'Day's agenda is to not only to close Taft Youth Center but to gain herself a nice severance package from private care. After Governor Haslam finds that she does not know the difference between children services and Juvenal justice and that she lied to the governor of the state of Tennessee, tax payers and to mislead the governor and the taxpayers is fraud. I have come to realize that "SHE" has done this before at other places that she may have worked to get her agenda or her way in life before. We the tax payers in the state of Tennessee should demand that Ms.O'Day resign her position along with Mr.Dawson and apologize to the citizens of the State of Tennessee and return their salaries that has been paid to them.

So,The citizens of Bledsoe,Van Buren,Cumberland,Rhea,Sequatchie,White and Warren Counties should expect that the powers that are in Nashville have no respect for the voters and work force in these counties where jobs are few and the unemployment rate is in the double digits. So Far it seems that the want to move this institution where the unemployment rate is lower than anywhere else.
