Nascarfan's comment history

I agree with most of your article except a couple of points. Jr. came very close to a win on several occasions only to have something go wrong (like Kyle Busch crashing into him!). He was also in the top 10 the entire season until the very end. I am a Hendricks Team fan with #48 being my top driver, #24 is my number 2 driver and #88 being my number 3. Gordon is still a good driver, but he no longer has "the edge" he had in the past. Jr could probably win the Nationwide Series Championship every year, but for some reason doesn't fare as well in the Sprint Cup Series. I also, feel he could do better with a crew chief that wasn't family and one that could put him in his place when he starts one of his rampages. Also, maybe he could start focusing on racing and less on marketing. I know, I know, it's all about the money.

In any case, people complaining about the point system are just people who's drivers are not getting enough of those points!

Any true Nascar fan can identify a champion when they see one and we have been watching one of the greatest win the championship for the last three years. He is smart, gutsy driver with the drive to win. He doesn't have to act like an a$$hole to be liked by the fans. He's my favorite driver because he's not that way. He just goes out and wins. He doesn't whine, he doesn't get mad, he doesn't blame his crew chief or his crew and he doesn't blame the tire manfacturers for any problems. In fact, when someone on his team screws up, he merely tells them to shake it off, we'll make up for it. This was very evident at the Atlanta Fall race this year. Give this man his due! He is a champion of champions. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins again next year!
