Orr, lesbians have the lowest rates for any STDs. So by your reasoning, lesbians must be the Annoited People.
Conservative, I'll break it down in simple terms that you can understand: A) 1 man + 1 woman = LEGAL marriage. B) 1 man + 1 man = BANNED from marriage in 41 states. C) 1 woman + 1 woman = BANNED from marriage in 41 states. The difference between couple A versus couples B and C is discrimination based on one of the couples' gender which is ILLEGAL. In this country it is already legal for two unrelated people ( in some states being related as close as first cousins) of sound mind and legal age (in some states as young as 14 with parent's consent, so I wouldn't use the "pervert" word too loudly, IMHO) to marry. All we want is the laws to be applied equally according to the 14th Amendment, which; according to the Constitution; federal laws supersedes state laws banning marriage equality. So, just to start off, trying to ban us from marriage violates Full Faith And Creditablity Clause, the 1st, 9th, and the 14th Amendments, and federal laws against gender discrimination.
Que the ranting, raving, false equivalencies, and sanctimonious head explosions in three... two... one...
George Will and Bobby Jindal summed it up pefectly. Watch the video:
happywithnewbulbs, You read me wrong. I agree with you. I was just pointing out the absolute lunacy of an electronic voting system that has no physical paper trail. A former person (don't remember which one) high up in FL. gov. Scott Brown's administration admitted that closing early voting a week early was to supress minority voters. But is it coincidence that the same problem with the same machines happend within 1 minute of the same time on election day when the exit polls where virtually neck and neck close during both elections? Who knows? But it would explain Rove's melt down on live tv (which was far more satisfying and enjoyable than what happened to the Wicked Witch of the West). A very good documentary called "Hacking Democracy" spells it out in detail.
happywithnewbulbs, do an internet search of "Anonymous warns Karl Rove" and "Thom Hartmann/Anonymous". Watch and wonder why this isn't reported in the mainstream media. If it were a Democrat, it would be plastered all over a one "news" channel.
patriot1, I don't "define" my life by my orientation. But when I'm denied equal access to civil rights BECAUSE of my orientation, then I have a problem.
Easy123, Rickaroo, MTJohn, have you noticed that NONE of the drivel that some people are blathering about answers a simple question? I'm still waiting for a logical, nonreligious reason to deny marriage equality that doesn't conflict with established Constitutional precedent.
Easy123, doncha know the APA is a part of the "homasexshall ageendah"?
I said "SUPPOSEDLY". I didn't ask or choose to be gay. And following the argument that being homosexual is a choice to it's logical conclusion is that everyone is born bisexual untill a conscious choice is made otherwise. Flip it 180 degrees. When did YOU choose to be heterosexual? If it's a choice for homosexuals, then logically, it also has to be a choice for heterosexuals. IOW, you failed at logical reasoning and debate. Just because something can't be clearly proven (yet) biologically isn't a conclusion that it isn't biologically induced. 10% of the populaion is left handed and even today doctors and scientits have no complete explanation. My father, mother, older sister, and I are right handed. My younger sister is left handed. Did she choose to be left handed? Years ago kids were punished for being left dominant and forced to use their right hand. Guess what? A lot of left handed people developed motor skill and dexterity difficulties that were irreversable even after they switched back to left dominant. Because being right handed was't natural to them.
