You make an excellent point, Clay. I'm an expert on the coercion tactics used against women in pregnancy counseling. The shaming is not only disrespectful; it's abusive.
I probably should write a book on the subject, but friends have written articles and the coercion manuals speak for themselves:
Here are two of many adoptee activist sites:
The adoption industry and pro-life organizations want us to be silent and ashamed. We're bad for business and throw a wrench in their propaganda machine.
"However, I never expressed superior knowledge of grammer."
Watch your back, Klara! They're coming to get you next....muahahamuahahaa...
"I wish my house was as neat as that room!"
HA -- Klara even admits she lives in a pigstye! Alprova, this impudent woman needs a kick in the subjunctive. In my opinion, abusing a verb is far worse than abusing a pronoun.
Alprova was sleepy. Is that now a crime as well? Apparently Klara thinks so. Observe the abuse inflicted on this poor man by people such as her. Is it any wonder he killed himself?:
Downfall of Grammar
by Mortal Wombat
Alprova, I was an English major and newspaper editor in my former life. When Clara viciously attacked you, my passion for linguistic truth and justice drove me to seek the truth. I read her other posts to determine whether she is qualified to judge others' grammar.
Clara, pray that God has mercy on you, for you have been judged and found wanting. Unfortunately, being slightly less omnipotent than God, I cannot punish you as you deserve. Instead, I challenge you to read the following:
Subjunctive mood - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Your homework assignment is to read George Orwell's 'Animal Farm' and write a ten-page essay comparing and contrasting the behavior of the various animals. Cite examples from the book which confirm the pigs' assertion that they are more equal than the other animals.
"Whether the scandal is pervasive within ACORN, I don't know. If it is, then the "tree" needs to be cut down. Will we hold other institutions to this standard? Historically, the answer is "No.""
So true, somethingorother. As an advocate for family preservation and child welfare reform I spent a lot of time on Capitol Hill during the 1980's. I'm all-too-familiar with the corruption that permeated the Reagan and Bush administrations. The Republicans are hiding far worse dirt than the Dems and ACORN. The Franklin-Boys Town conspiracy during the Reagan and Bush administrations is one example.
"Washington Times June 29, 1989 story, headlined: "Homosexual Prostitution Inquiry Ensnares VIPs with Reagan, Bush."
The Franklin Scandal is the dirty tip of the iceberg of America's corrupt child welfare and adoption system. Republicans who promote adoption are fueling this insanity.
