Obama is awesome as president. I just wish he would do more to cut Social Security and Medicare. Then the money could be applied to Welfare and Medicaid where it's really needed! We could then even extend these benifits to our neigbors to the south, the poor migrant workers.

Tonytimes...I'd rather see my taxdollars helping people in this country in exactly this way than to give billions upon untold billions of tax dollars to foreign guberments that hate our freak'n guts. They could start by building houses from the Katrina destruction and Tuscaloosa, Apison, Cleveland, Ringgold, Etc....and put thousands of people to work.

It looks to me like the federal government could take the tax money they spent on these trailers, add some more to it and simply build their homes back. They never asked for this storm to hit their town. The government could even pay unemployed people to do the work. That way it would help the people that lost their homes, and help the unemployed with jobs at the same time.

I just don't understand this at all. So what if a few Mexicans are coming into the US to work? They are simply poor people trying to support their families, that’s all. I would do the same thing if I lived in Mexico. I know some Mexicans that are in our area that are probably here “illegally” but so what? They are doing yard work and roofing and all of those hot sweaty jobs no one wants to do anyway. I feel sorry for them all and so should everyone. And another thing. I think we should tax the rich people in this country that make over 200,000 a year like President Obama says out of some of their money and share their wealth by paying all of the people in Mexico that are growing cocaine and marijuana to NOT grow the stuff!!!!. BINGO….Drug problem SOLVED! I mean we do it now here in the US thanks to the right wing folks. We pay farmers NOT to grow crops to regulate the prices and it works!
