As the parent of a home schooled 12 year old I would gladly give up any opportunity to have her participate in extracurricular activities at the government schools I'm still forced to support with about 70% of my tax bill if they won't ask me to pay the tax any longer. See if you can make that happen librul. We'll both be happier I guarantee you.

Can we then hope that this writer will not be moving to the area. My experience is that many people who move to the tri-state area want it to be just like where they moved from but with a better view, better climate and more polite neighbors. Typical liberal arrogance and eliteism.

If governments had to operate like a business they'd be OUT of business. As it is there is rarely any penalty for a fiasco like this. They just raise taxes to "fix" the error.

This story points out how critically important it is that we make sure the people who are sending our sons and daughters into harms way are doing it for the right reason. We now know the entire Vietnam conflict started over a lie called the Gulf of Tonkin incident which leaders of the time now admit never happened. Over 58,000 Americans and God knows how many vietnamese military and civilians died over a lie. We have to go back to a point where we only go to war, declared by congress, to actually defend this country instead of attacking other countries on a whim of the Commander in Chief whoever it happens to be.

I'd like to see people who are against concealed or open carry would identify themselves with a name tag, T shirt or funny hat so those of us who are carrying won't waste ammo saving their lives in a situation where they may be killed. If you choose not to be able to defend yourself that's fine with me. But when seconds count the police are only minutes away. I'll be carrying mine. If you get in trouble and don't want to be helped just waive your hand and let us know and we'll stay out of it and let your personal one-on-one assault, robbery or murder continue unabated.

If you get a FEMA check you should call up your grandchildren and apologize. They're the ones who will be paying the money back if the country lasts that long.
