This whole mess is like a bad joke. When will they ever mature. I think that some of the students may be much more intelligent and that isn't saying much. It is getting old.

It, in my humble opinion, is wrong to hold the teachers accountable for the student's test scores. You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink. It is up to the student to learn what they are being taught and apply themselves. But, collectively, our society has reared a generation that has no concept of taking responsibility for their actions or the lack thereof. Teachers are being held accountable for the short comings of the parents who do not take child rearing seriously and that my friend is a crime against the teachers. They do their jobs and the students have to be held accountable for doing theirs. Now I shall get off my soap box.

The Hamilton County School Board has collectively proved that "Stupid" cannot be fixed. If he isn't functioning in accordance to his contract then he has broken it and is not due anything. Or make him stay for the duration of his contract and the school board overrule all his decisions and make him get out of the contract. I do however, suspect that a particular school board member who was elected in the last election has his eye on that position. Judging from the funds raised and spent on that person's campaign, something is suspicious. There either needs to be an elected Superintendent and no school board or a school board with no superintendent. As it stands on the superintendent answers to no one and in the past the school board has always rubber stamped anything the superintendent wanted. Perhaps the taxpaying citizens of Hamilton county would be better served if the school board was abolished and the superintendent be an elected position so the taxpayers would have a say in the matter.

It appears that talent is not the determining factor, but the amount of votes regardless of talent. It seems that politics has invaded everything in life.

I do understand the need for taxes and support it. What I detest is how individuals in office squander those taxes paid in by hard working citizens. It is shameful and outright criminal in nature. I believe it could be best described as obtaining money under false pretenses. I cannot say that all politicians are unethical and dishonest. All I can say is that in all my life I have never met or known of one who wasn't. In this instant it is just another money grab because of the dishonesty in government spending.
