In answer to rolando. The $2.5 million available from the state program will come from the federal petroleum violation escrow account made up of money collected from oil companies. I wonder if this is some of the money Obama extorted from BP?

When a company is a monopoly it needs to be regulated. AT&T saying "the current regulatory system under which it operates no longer makes sense in a telecommunications environment in which the company competes with cable and cell phone companies and other phone service providers" is bogus.In many rural areas of Tennessee the only phone service is a landline from AT&T. AT&T went to the legislature and got them to approve Uverse saying they would install it in the rural areas. To date no one is laying fiber optic cable anywhere near our rural location but plenty in the high dollar market. Here is an idea,let them dergulate once the rural areas they said they would serve with Uverse are served.
