Randy, perhaps your brother should keep you off this comment section. If he shares your intelligence level it is no wonder the city is having so many problems.

They can have all of the excess water that comes to East Ridge when it rains. Wait it a minute. They were claiming before that East Ridge belonged in Georgia.

Only one person will decide the third council member. That is the person who runs the city, Eddie Phillips. He has total control over everything, thanks to Vince Dean.

Rebecca Stern needs to be removed from the bench. It seems in her court it is who you know that determines your punishment. She released this man to put hundreds in danger due to a "prank." If he is assigned to her court this time I imagine he will spend a few hours in jail.

Brent Lambert was quoted in another paper that more information would be available to the council when the auditor's gave a report. Mr. Lambert should understand that is not the job of the auditor. It seems we have people running the city who don't understand how to run a business or even to ask pertinent questions.

Please look at the AP article in the Chattanooga Times yesterday about the situation with housing authorities not doing any work to document income of public housing or section 8 recipients. Once you have section 8 it is almost impossible to lose it. You can deal drugs and destroy property, but you still get section 8.

Isn't there an open government law in Tennessee? This is just another reason the incumbents running for re-election should be given the boot and Lambert and Manning should be sidelined until 2012. Perhaps the people of East Ridge should demand a recall election for those two. This vote on top of having a single person in charge of the fire and police and also being the city manager smells of fraud and illegal acts whether it is true or not.

This type of management is just the tip of the iceberg and is one of the reasons there is a huge budget deficit. If there is this much incompetance in the housing offices how much is there with food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare and WIC?

It is time that Social Security and Medicare are examined. I assume that the Tea Party agrees with this statement. COLA's for Social Security recipients should be frozen for at least 5 years. The Medicare drug benefit should be repealed. Cafeteria plans for benefits should be eliminated so all taxpayers are treated the same. Food stamps should not be allowed for food that makes people sick which will result in increased health costs. There are many more that we can do, but I bet if these types of cuts are started there will be a lot of screaming by some of the same Tea Party members who are advocating for budget cuts.

Also, it caught my attention that the female mouthpiece for the Tea Party is a very hefty girl. I bet she has health insurance.

This is just an example where the council, attorney and city manager of East Ridge don't respond to problems brought to them by the citizens. We could save a lot of money if we did away with all of them and put up cardboard characters with recordings of "We will get back with you." It is amazing the city attorney did not respond to this woman. She gave the city a chance at the meeting. It is time for new leadership in East Ridge. We need a new council, a new city manager and separate fire and police chiefs who don't have other businesses on the side.
