I live in California and buy the mid-grade fuel. I paid $4.31 a gallon this morning, so be happy with your $3.84 a gallon prices. Really makes me want to move back to Chattanooga, especially with no state taxes!! I find it amusing to see all the different prices as you drive around town and yet they all get their gas from the same place. It will be interesting (and oh, so rewarding) to view the 1st Quarter profit reports for the oil companies. It doesn't really matter what side of the party floor you swing to, they've got us where they want us and they know it.
Well, well, Canary, I must say I finally have to agree with you! This article says nothing about the slum lord being Christian OR Republican. Just the typical name-calling we see in these posts. NO ONE, no matter who you are, no matter what color, religion, or nationality, deserves to live in these conditions. First and foremost, we are all humans, first.
I also agree that all the renters should gather together and not pay their rent. They need to work with the refuse and water departments and pay directly to them so the services continue. It's easy to sit back and place blame, but sometimes you have to band together and take the bull by the horns to change things.
Every comment on here has a place where you can click "Suggest Removal". I suggest removal of Clay Bennett's daily addition to this newspaper. All they seem to do is promote hatred among community members, with people thinking they are better than someone else by their color, religion, or political party. Yes, we should all be entitled to our own opinions, but wouldn't the world be a better place if we just kept it to ourselves and didn't try to make everybody "just like us"??
Lightnup..... that is just the greatest! Your handle here suits you well. Thanks for the early morning laugh!!
By the way, I don't think that Tiger is much different than a lot of men out there. He is just in the public eye, therefore got caught. Oh yeah, women cheat, too.
These posts are COMEDY! It's great to see a change from the typical, everyday political banter that you see on here and they even have a bit of a history lesson in them. Very refreshing! Thanks, Clay!!
LOL... I must be REALLY old... I can remember the phone on the right when it had a rotary dial! You know, if cell phones have done one thing, they have increased the time we spend ON the phone. It's funny, you can be out in public, a cell phone rings, and 75% of the people in the area frantically look for their phone to see if it is their's that's ringing. We have become slaves to all this new technology.
Thank you Tax_Payer and librul for the bit of humor this morning. You know we can all use it the way the world is going right now. And yes, FormerChattanoogaResident, I am also a former Chattanooga resident and I loved it there. Some of the best people you will ever meet live there and I would move back in a heartbeat if my daughters were all not so close to me now.
I can't see why we all need to be so opinionated. Can't we just agree that opinions are important to everyone but that we don't have to make them accepted by others? I think that is what's wrong with the world today, starting right here in our own back yards. Our own govenment can't agree to let others have their own opinions, thinking the right is better than the left, and vice versa. People thinking their religion is the only one that is right, and countries killing others (even our own) because they disagree over the issue. Everybody wanting more power over others. The whole thing is just out of hand.
I say leave these High School students alone. Who are they hurting? Really no one. Are they any different than all those out there that write comments on this website? No, not really. If two gay men were walking down the street, holding hands, is that wrong? Maybe to some or even most, but is it hurting anyone? Are they trying to push it off on me? I say, "No." So just let it be.
Gas prices headed higher, especially in Georgia

Man accused of kicking pregnant girlfriend in stomach
Oh, and don't forget about any court proceedings or jail time he will be lucky enough to do!
Renters frustrated with unfit conditions
