Did anyone else see the Julius Erving DOCumentary on NBA TV last night? Excellent. It made the point that to win championships, a team HAS TO surround a great player with SEVERAL good players; something the Sixers did not do consistently while Erving was there. You guys can debate Jordan vs. James all you want, but give me THE DOCTOR. #TheGreatest.

Chaos update [thanks Uchi]: Will Wade hires Brooks Savage as DBO. He was with Forbes + Shay at NW Fla...and all were with Pearl at UT. As a co-worker pointed out, it also gives the Mocs a place to send players at the JUCO level and a good recruiting pool. I like it...as long as they are careful with who they invite to BBQs...#GoMocs

Great win by the 1st-place Lady Mocs Saturday night. I wanted to complain about the game story not being on page D1 Sunday [instead of a 74-35 high school game], but I cannot. 2 reasons: the Lady Mocs were featured on page D1 Saturday and today; and, the Mat Mocs deservedly took the headline today. As for UTC Men's basketball, you have their news appropriately where the program is right now...buried. Thanks to the TFP sports editor and his staff for their coverage of OUR hometown college teams.
I think Pearl was a better coach when he had less talent. Conversely, Martin will be a better coach when he has more talent. Talent that plays defense leads to championships, right Coach Cal ?
