Great win by the 1st-place Lady Mocs Saturday night. I wanted to complain about the game story not being on page D1 Sunday [instead of a 74-35 high school game], but I cannot. 2 reasons: the Lady Mocs were featured on page D1 Saturday and today; and, the Mat Mocs deservedly took the headline today. As for UTC Men's basketball, you have their news appropriately where the program is right now...buried. Thanks to the TFP sports editor and his staff for their coverage of OUR hometown college teams.
I think Pearl was a better coach when he had less talent. Conversely, Martin will be a better coach when he has more talent. Talent that plays defense leads to championships, right Coach Cal ?
I saw a great show in the early '90s at The Omni. Tim McGraw [before Faith] OPENED for D.Y. I think it is safe to say their careers [and lives] went different directions from that point; although, 'Sling-blade' remains a classic. The Mocs need another conference road win tonight. Go Blue [I hope they are not wearing those gosh-awful black unis tonight].

I could not pick the pocket of a dead man, but I will pick 6 I would like to see in the Final 4: Florida, U of L, KU, IU, Creighton, and...Ole Missy. They all have somewhat unique nicknames; well, except the Black Bears.
Back to UTC M-BB...I have been to most of the home games this season. Actual attendance is about half of the reported attendance in the box scores. Season tickets sold are at an all-time low. The numbers do not lie, supporting JMCs point.
For the record, I want Shulman to coach the 2013-14 season [the last year of his contract]. At that point, Bruce Pearl will be out of "show-cause" jail. Once a chancellor is hired, he/she will have to hire vice-chancellors for [in order] academics, development, and athletics. A new men's basketball coach is not a priority for a while. Thanks + Go Mocs !

I concur with Dr. JMC regarding UTC football. Let's pretend Sir Eckstein also managed McKenzie Arena. I wonder what he would say about Mocs Men's Basketball attendance this year [and last year...and the year before that].
