C-Niner: Your XX Cats play either Florida or Miss State Friday at 2:30...your thoughts please on your WBB team heading into both SEC + NCAA tourney play...hey, I am just tryin' to get your mind off Cal + his young-uns...
Jay-G: for tomorrow's mailbag...who will win the SEC WBB tourney?
FEtheC, MT, OG + Mr T:
Well played boys...well played indeed...
40+ years ago Bryant hired an OC to install the Wish-Bone [thanks, please pass the 1000 island]. Maybe Satan...oops...Saban should hire an OC to install the hurry-up/spread [Parkay?]. Can you tell I am fasting today?
If Satan...oops...Saban wants the college game to be more like the NFL, maybe he should coach in the NFL. What's that you say? He can't win in the NFL? Really now?
Stew-Daddy: I think those other post-season MBB tourneys require an entry fee (?) The other guys can set us straight on that...
As for the 2014 PGA, even though he went to the little red school north of the river, I would like to see Harris English [or is it English Harris?] do well this year...Luke List also...
Saturday was MBB Lettermen's Day in K-town, and those present for the retirement of Dale Ellis' # 14 received quite an ovation [especially Ronrico's dad, the legendary Wizard, Tony White Sr]. For a guy that could not recruit and was very slow to embrace the 3-ball, Don DeVoe coached some good players. DeVoe's least favorite player was there: Kevin "Big Sexy" Nash, who got a loud ovation as well. Nash, who truly embraced the college experience off the court, could probably make a couple of Rushmore's.
Thanks to Weeds for a mention in his column Sunday. I think the last time I witnessed both the Mocs + the Vols win on the same day [in any sport] at the 1982 NCAAs in Indianapolis.
Good thing Cats have 9 lives…Thursday night’s losers: W Carolina, UK [XY + XX], Memphis [in a Cat fight with Houston]…and on the XX side…LSU, Wash State + N’western…and what is a ‘Billiken’? A distant relative of mine? I sort of see a resemblance…
Tiger’s chances of catching Jack in the majors race went south when his father died…Daddy Earl kept young Eldrick in check.
Join me + MocTastic at Jefferson’s tomorrow pre-game…HH 3-7…I will get there around 5…going to K-town first to jinx the Mighty Cun-zo’s. The real reasons I’m going: UT is finally retiring the # of the great Dale Ellis…and the tic is free.
UTC at WCU MBB is on espn3 and locally on THIS TV [Comcast cable ch 208, epb ch 169 + WTVC 9.2]...thanks Dave Staley.
From the Blue [west] side of the Ridge: Wadley out, Shulman in. Hearing it for a week? How about a month or 2?
Here's guessin' Austin Clark + Ricky Bowers are lickin' their chops. Thanks Access America.
Billy - In - Brainerd...the East [red-neck] side
C-Niner: Granted, it does not take much, but I am confused. UK has not played MBB in K-town this year. [I guess Mike Hamilton gets the blame for that also.] 18,009 were in the Tommy Bowl for the 9-point loss to the Gaytors, on a Tuesday with snow looming and a week after the loss at Vandy. 15,664 were there to see your Cats beat the Lady Vols by 4. On Saturday, February 16, 2013, 21,677 and I watched the Mighty Cun-zo's beat UK by 30, 88-58.
Stupid Bruce Pearl. But gosh, I miss him.
How about a Rushmore of Cats...no C-Niner, not the your 'cats.
Off the top of my head, I'll go with Mike the Tiger, Aubie, The Pink Panther and...the Pussy-Cat Dolls. Honorable Mention: Sylvester + Morris.
