A hardship is not the same as No Child Left Behind. A hardship is granted when a child has a special needs; such as a disability, or a special education need like ADHD or gifted needs, or an emotional or social need, such a complicated family and custody situations including abuse cases. I don't know or care why this young man was granted a hardship, but I do know the implication of this ruling is that disabled students who attend a school best suited to their needs will not be allowed to participate in sports. It's heart breaking that anyone cares enough about HS football to even consider that.
