A parents asked me to me post this:

I would like to know specifically which "experts" say the rise in autism is partly accounted for by the inclusion of other conditions such as Down syndrome. I have not seen any study that shows down syndrome children with autism are causing the rise in the autism incidence so I want to know what data was used by these "experts" to justify their statement.

We can only expect that the media and health officials will continue to pretend that the epidemic number of autistic children everywhere is normal and acceptable. None of the doctors cited can explain why we're always talking about children when the subject of autism comes up. No one has ever been able to show us an adult population with autism at rates even remotely close to what we see in our children. And I'm not talking about adults with high functioning autism/Asperger's. I want to see adults with the symptoms of full-blown autism.

No one can imagine what it'll be like in this country in a few short years as this affected population of children reaches adulthood. The cost of lifetime care will be at least $3.2 milllion EACH according to a conservative Harvard Study from four years ago. The prospects for the future when hundreds of thousands of autistic adults are dependent on the welfare system for their support and care is a looming tsunami. This is something that all the experts telling parents they're wrong neatly ignore.

Bregel doesn't tell us about experts who disagree with her doctors. People like Dr. Peter Fletcher, former Chief Scientific Officer in the UK. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-37620... In the Daily Mail in Britain Fletcher said he believes in the connection between the MMR vaccine and autism and bowel disease in children, 'It is the steady accumulation of evidence, from a number of respected universities, teaching hospitals and laboratories around the world, that matters here. There's far too much to ignore. Yet government health authorities are, it seems, more than happy to do so.'

Bregel doesn't mention Dr. Bernadine Healy, former head of the National Institutes of Health. On CBS News http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4088138n in Jul 2008, Healy stated that the studies haven't been done that would disprove a link between vaccines and autism. Two years later, they still haven't been done.

All the science is settled when it comes to vaccines and autism. I never find anyone however who's actually looked at who did the studies.
Autism advocate Julie Obradovic researched the fourteen studies that are used to prove safety. http://www.ageofautism.com/julie-obradovic/ Julie wrote, "Having read all of the studies several times, I can assure you they have not [disproved a link.] And regardless of what side of the debate you fall, that fact is indisputable. Studying 1 [vaccine] ingredient of dozens and 1 injection [MMR] (given sometimes twice) out of a possible 35 before age 5 is certainly inadequate."

These studies are riddled with flaws and hopelessly tied to the industry that produces the products in question or they're done by the agency with everything at stake in showing vaccines are safe, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They will never settle the controversy. In Julie's words, "Each and every study was conducted and/or funded by someone who patents, manufacturers, promotes, endorses, profits from and/or defends in a court of law vaccines."

Regardless of how bad the autism rate is, no one ever demands answers. No expert is ever concerned about about the numbers getting worse. We're assured that the increase is due in part to the expanded spectrum of autism disorders.

We're falsely told that for a decade vaccines for kids haven't contained mercury, although those of us who study the issue know it's about six years. At the same time they were phasing out mercury from childhood vaccines, they began to recommend the mercury-laced flu shot for pregnant women. (This year with the H1N1 vaccine added, the exposure to unborn child doubled.)

Bregel doesn't mention the fact that the vaccine schedule more than tripled between 1983 and 2008 without a single study on the cumulative effect of so many vaccines so soon on the health of a child. http://adventuresinautism.blogspot.com/2008/02/usa-today-ad.html
