Hart may have to do what he obviously doesn't want to do-fire Dooley and give him big bucks to sail into the sunset. It is unfortunate that things have come to this, but it appears Dooley doesn't have the wherewithal to lead the team out of the morass. It also seems to me that last season's exit of most of his primary coaching staff should have set off alarms.Half your staff doesn't leave unless there is good reason for it. We don't know the reasons, but seeing how this season has panned out, we now have a good suspicion of why they left.
The question becomes, "How patience are the fans and the AD? Dooley has no history of winning. Being the son of a famous coach means nothing. What matters is whether he is or is not a competent coach, whether the assistants are competent and whether the players have any talent. And who can evaluate any of that? I don't think it would hurt to fire him after the season. Sometimes we make mistakes and have to deal with them. The hiring of Dooley may be one of these mistakes.
Would Pearl have done the better job with the players available for this season? a resounding NO. It is obvious now that these kids needed consistency and stability the worst way. IMO, Pearl would NEVER have gotten out of these boys what Martin has. Run and gun, playing favs, screaming and yelling constantly is not a recipe for ultimate success. This present crop of players are learning how to play the game AND how to be great young men. That they never would have learned under Pearl.
Very funny and basically right on the money. And I bet the whole session was awkward. I mean, as was said, with all the lying of Kiffin and Pearl, how does the committee even begin to believe anything either one says? The school will be lucky to get off with less than three or four year sanctions, which I think is silly because the punishment is being doled out to those who basically have had no part in any of it. Kiffin, Pearl, and Hamilton are the ones who need the punishment, not Dooley and Martin. The whole system needs rethinking.
"Coach Dooley's probably a little bit more low-key on the recruiting aspect," Miller said. "But you can tell he's enthusiastic about it. I've only met Coach Kiffin once, but I just felt like Coach Kiffin, he just was a very good talker and could influence you. He's also a great recruiter, [but] I just think you get a little more down home-ness with Coach Dooley."
The boy can read character very well. He will go far in life.

Wiedmer: SEC could lose big in realignment
See what happens when the only thing thought about is how much money it's going to engender. beyond sad
Wiedmer: Kiffin says UT talk ‘little bit different’

Should Phil Fulmer be the next UT athletic director?
Fulmer belongs to the 'good ole boy' network at UT. That is something the school doesn't need.
Johnson stays true to UT
