well Mrs. O'day heres something i guess you also didn't take the time to look at, you stated in Nashville on wed Feb. 1st that any juvenile facility can use mase have you even took the time to read the doe policy??????????? i guess you don't have that in front of you either well i don't think that stsrcf has a copy they are a adult facility after all......you said all employees can go across the road except for 4 or maybe 5 well first of all over there if you aren't kin you aren't in except for the few people that they have to have and they never make rank. what more does a person need than 5+ years experience, great evaluations, excellent attendance and has worked all areas at stsrcf and gave a more than necessary notice before leaving with no write ups need to acquire a job or should i say return to a job at stsrcf all the above didn't seem to matter to them the other day when i interviewed nor does the 4 years i have at taft and with its possible closing? still nothing.....now i can understand when YOU say i dont understand or i'm unsure...like you i'm not good at math, but i am good at working with the students at taft i love, appreciate and need my job and i do read the policy's including the doe policy. No were have i seen in a policy that you support the people you work with, respect them, stand up for them and be proud of the efforts they make.. {treat the students the same as staff} well all i can say is i hope you sleep as well tonight as the parents that have children at other ydcs waiting for taft students arrival..lets not forget the students themselves...stsrcf is going to hire everyone from taft? you should be the warden then becouse one day you'll be shut down too

Why is it that Nashville is sending in 'people' with less administration experience than what is available on site??? And funny to me i've seen them on campus once, twice at the most!!!

Nashville says that Taft employees are a bunch of 'rednecks'. The students that receive their diplomas and GED'S get a diploma that says Taft High School not 'redneck university'. These students work hard at a positive task to help themselves. They also are very proud and hold their head high with a sense of dignity knowing that they have made a huge accomplishment. The staff and teachers congratulate these students and wish them success. Alot of students at Taft have moved from place to place and left with nothing. When these students leave Taft, they leave with a fighting chance that they have given themselves. The leave with respect for others...for that is what has been shown to them. All students at Taft are a 'somebody' to the employees that work there. These students are not there to fill a room, remember 'No Child Left Behind'...where does that fit in the budget???

My Dad and brother both were once students at Taft Youth Center and both have stated that this place helped them to become who they are today. They both have great jobs and have'nt been re-encarcerated since. I would just like to say Thank You to ALL STATE EMPLOYEES working at Taft...past and present. My Grandmother and Mother both slept better knowing that they were at a safe secure place that taught them to be productive citizens in the end. I hope Taft does'nt close...i feel like Taft is a second chance for alot of these students to be able to get an education that will help to prevent them from crime in their future. I have seen these students at football games and they showed respect to other players and visitors as well as having respect and pride for themselves. Taft Youth Center has so much to offer these students...an education, counseling, industrial skills and medical treatment. How can our youth learn to be productive citizens without guidance that most may have not been able to gather somewhere else. My family did'nt start their time at Taft, they went through other youth centers in the state. Both have stated that Taft, by far, is where someone took the time to believe in them as people and not criminals. With that being said, i again would like to Thank the Taft employees for showing patience, respect and guidance as that has shaped them into the men whom they are today. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
