This is ridiculous. How is it a good idea to rip off the people who help keep our city safe? Sure it saves money, but there has to be another way.

I am about to graduate with my degree in Computer Science from UTC, and I was just offered a job at one of the local big insurance companies with a pleasantly surprising financial package. However, I spent my time in school studying and catching up on the industry in addition to working as an intern. I did all this hoping to get an edge on the good jobs, but I didn't imagine it might make the difference between simply getting a job or being unemployed. Entry-level positions are currently difficult to come by, most likely due to cuts made by all businesses as they tighten their belts for the recession.

My point in writing this is to encourage those currently in college to do something to set you above the rest. Now isn't the time to be partying. It's only 4 years of your life, so make the most of them. Cultivate relationships with potential employers, and get your name out in the industry!
